Marshall University School of Pharmacy is located in Huntington, West Virginia. The School of Pharmacy was founded in 2012 and is relatively new to supplying this type of program. The schools seeks to help students learn the vital role that pharmacists play in patient care and that it is more than simply dispensing medication to where a quality, competent pharmacist is an active participant in a patient’s overall health care to achieve the best results possible through medication therapy. The School of Pharmacy at Marshall university has developed a program that focuses on team-learning to promote the importance of interdisciplinary work in this field.
Marshall University School of Pharmacy offers a degree in their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program. The cost of tuition in the program is $15,926.00 for in-state students and $27,916.00 for out-of-state residents. The program offers a variety of courses using the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research and the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Administration and Research in order to give students the solid background in all of the important aspects of pharmacy work and practice that they need. There are also courses throughout the program that provide experiential education so that students can get real world experience working in the community providing pharmacy services.
