Located right in the heart of the city, the Touro College of Pharmacy-New York is one of the new, yet prestigious pharmacy schools in the state. It is privately owned and has a Jewish religious affiliation. It also has multiple campuses spread around the area.
The college was initially established in 1970. However, the pharmacy school was erected in 2008. It only needed four years to achieve an accreditation and become the first pharmacy school in the area after 70 years, as well as the only institution of its kind in Manhattan.
The PharmD (doctorate of pharmacy) degree costs $38,300. There are other fees that will apply too, whether it comes to books, accommodation or transportation. The actual accommodation costs $21,566, so the final costs go higher than $70,000.
The Touro College of Pharmacy-New York was accredited in no time, while the large number of students (close to 20,000) make it a very good solution for pharmacy aspirants. In 2007, two employees were caught receiving bribes, but they were imprisoned. No other similar cases were recorded.
The doctorate of pharmacy (PharmD) program is the most complex and complete one. It prepares students for a rewarding career in pharmacy. Several other degrees and certificates are also available.
