UCSD SSPPS offers students an innovative and flexible curriculum leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, taught by a stellar health sciences faculty in a program closely associated with the outstanding clinical, research and academic programs in the School of Medicine. The University of California, San Diego was established in the year 1960 and has improved by leaps and bounds since then. Its campus is gigantic in size and occupies an area of 2141 acres very close to the Pacific Ocean’s coast.
It has a student count of over 30,000 and thus happens to be one of the largest universities in these terms. The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of California offers 5 educational programs that include Doctor of Pharmacy, B.S. in Chemistry and Pharm.D, Ph.D degree in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, post Pharm-D pharmacy practice and specialty residencies and research fellowships of course. Besides these, a continuing education program for practicing pharmacists is also offered by the University of California, San Diego. Until a few years ago (in 2005) the number of students in Pharm.D program were 240, in Ph.D students were 60 and there were a total of 30 pharmacy residents. This university accepts no more than 60 Pharm.D students every year and gives them admission as students.
