While initially established in Erie, the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine has two different locations in Bradenton (FL) and Greensburg (PA). It trains more than 3,000 students every year. Some of them are hosted on site. Furthermore, the campus is located in a suburban area. It is also designed with recreational purposes in mind.
The college is relatively new. It was founded in 1992. It is also part of a larger institution – the Millcreek Health System. The satellite branches were opened in 2004 and 2009. Most students still aim for the original location. Other than that, the college is private, but nonprofit.
The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is one of the few institutions in the United States of America that provide the same tuition fees for both Pennsylvania residents and nonresidents – $24,500. There are a series of other fees that may apply though.
The medical school is the largest in the country and has an amazing reputation. It is currently ranked 62-nd in medical school rankings.
There are two different programs to obtain the doctorate of pharmacy. One of them spreads over three years, but there are no vacations included. The other one covers four years. This second program is only available in the Bradenton (FL) branch.
