Located in a central position, the University of Louisiana at Monroe is one of the most popular public institutions in the city, especially since it is part of a prestigious university. Aside from the few schooling buildings, it also covers a 238 acre wide campus. Before carrying the current name, the pharmacy school has been through a few different changes. It was initially opened in 1931. It was originally known as the Ouachita Parish Junior College. It has the current name since 1991.

The tuition costs do not depend on whether or not students require on site accommodation. They will simply have to pay between $8,000 and $18,000, depending on the programs they choose. Those who want a professional doctorate will have to pay the most. All tuition costs include most fees too.

While the costs seem higher compared to other institutions, the positive reputation makes this university worth, especially since its diplomas are widely accepted all across the world.

As for the programs, they are quite diversified. Radiologic technology, occupational therapy, gerontology and health studies are the most common choices. Other than that, it is worth noting that students can opt between MBA professional programs and pharmacy professional doctorate programs, regardless of the specialization they select.
