Conveniently located on Sherman Circle at the campus entrance, the McWhorter School of Pharmacy complex is housed in Ingalls and Russell Halls – providing 50k sqft. of state of the art teaching and laboratory facilities. Some of the finest in Alabama.
It was established back in the year 1841 as Howard College and has since been rising by leaps and bounds in its standard and reputation. Samford University has an acceptance rate of 83 percent. The primary degree offered by the McWhorter School of Pharmacy is the Pharm.D and in addition to this a few more courses. There is a joint Pharm.D / MBA program in collaboration with the Brock School of business. From 2014 onward this pharmacy school has decided to start another course which is Pharm.D / Public Health which will be in collaboration with the school of Public Health. It offers merit based admission to its aspirants and getting into this institute’s pharmacy school is often considered to be a life changing step in a person’s life.
